Mikki has been a part of the Green Industry since 1997. With intimate knowledge of the wide spectrum of disciplines within the industry, she has been involved in the operations of indoor plant management and landscape construction, where she was responsible for the successful completion of many high profile landscape projects.
Her passion for the greater Green industry is evident in a string of accolades that she has achieved:
- Chairman of IPSA (Interior Plantscapers Association of SA – 2006/07). Mikki also received the Bernie Hall Floating Trophy for her contribution to the indoor plantscaping industry. She was also on the panel of experts who wrote the first Units Standards for Indoor Horticulture in the early 2000’s.
- The first female Chairman of SAGIC (South African Green Industries Council - 2010/11)
- Chairman for the Gauteng region of SALI (South African Landscapers Institute 2019 - 2021)
- In 2017, Mikki was registered with SACLAP (South African Council for Landscape Architectural Professions) as one of the country’s first Professional Landscape Managers (PrLM)
Mikki joined Bidvest Top Turf as the Chief Executive Officer in late 2016. This was regarded as a landmark move as she is one of the first female CEOs appointed in one of the largest landscaping companies in the country. Her focused leadership skills and understanding of business management has been proven time and time again, as she has grown the company with remarkable results since her appointment.
The importance of ensuring that a company’s finances are closely scrutinized and responsibly reported on, is a very crucial part of any company. Working within the Bidvest Group for several years, there is no better person to understand the financial health of a company like Caroline.
In 2022, Caroline was acknowledged for her exceptional management skills and appointed as Bidvest Top Turf’s Chief Financial Officer. She is responsible for all financial matters of this multi-million-rand company and has a very effective team of staff that report into her structure.
David Mwonzora was appointed as the National Sales Manager of Bidvest Top Turf in September 2021.
A visionary leader, David designs winning strategies that accelerate business results. In his designated role, David will lead and empower a high-performing, purpose-driven Sales team to deliver meaningful innovation and drive growth through offerings that meet the evolving landscaping industry and unlock value for all stakeholders.
David’s responsibilities include generation of new recurrent maintenance contracts as well as scanning the market for new business opportunities, thereby ensuring growth of the company, and positively contributing to the vision and objectives of Bidvest Top Turf. He is also responsible for all marketing activities as well as brand development.
David is a values-based leader, whose modern client-centric mindset inspires teams to build, innovate and perform at the highest levels. He is a champion for equity and inclusion and has consistently built diverse teams throughout his career. Previously David worked for entities in the retail, financial services, and pharmaceutical sector for 19 years, ensuring growth of the brands and product across the world.
David is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant and has certifications in auditing, taxation, and business advisory.
Dawid has been interested in the Horticultural industry since his involvement in the South African display stand at the internationally renowned Chelsea Flower Show in 2006, where his team was awarded a gold medal for excellence.
He has completed his B.Tech degree in Ornamental Horticulture through UNISA, and apart from his horticultural knowledge, Dawid is also a qualified Pest Control Officer registered at the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
Dawid heads up the operational division of the North West region and is responsible for the landscape construction and maintenance of many flagship portfolios such as world famous holiday resorts, golf courses, regional mining operations and sport fields.
With his years of experience, he has successfully coordinated sixteen International Golf tournaments and received numerous awards of excellence from the South African Landscapers Institute (SALI) for many high profile properties that his region maintains.
His dynamic style of management and dedicated work ethic makes him highly motivated to achieve results.
With a diverse structure, Dawid is excellent at communicating well with his multi-cultural structure and understands the value of communicating professionally within the organization.

Simon has been a part of the Bidvest Top Turf family since 1989 and has been a key member in the irrigation division from his first day at the company.
With more than 34 years of experience in all fields of irrigation, Simon has one of the most complete understanding of complex irrigation systems in Southern Africa.
He was the irrigation manager on site during the construction of the world famous ‘Gardens of the Lost City’ at Sun International’s Sun City resort during the 1990’s.
During the course of his career, he has managed many complex and demanding projects from large resort gardens to golf course irrigation systems.
Simon is obsessed with customised design and installation of irrigation systems that suit the local conditions, provide maximum infiltration and use as little water as possible for the desired outcome. This makes him one of the driving forces behind the success of Bidvest Top Turf.
With more than a decade of practical experience in the landscaping industry, Chris is a self-driven and motivated manager of the company’s operational office in the Kwa-Zulu Natal region.
With extensive knowledge in landscape construction and maintenance and a focus on rehabilitation of natural landscape areas, his contribution to the company’s growth in the coastal region is invaluable.
Managing the financial wellbeing of his region requires him to balance budgets, pricing of additional contracts and work, upgrades to existing sites as well as ensuring good client relations are maintained.
Chris’s passion to standardize operating procedures and landscaping quality, makes his focus on growing revenue within his region invaluable to the Bidvest Top Turf management team
With a National Diploma in Landscape Technology from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, alongside a wide spectrum of qualifications varying from being a qualified irrigation technician, to completing his firefighting course and being able to put alien invasive species control plans into place, MJ heads up the company’s latest operational division in the Cape region.
His love for plants and natural creativity led him on a career path working with landscaping and irrigation, and his experience in the green industry has given him a solid foundation in both indoor plant management and external horticultural practices.
MJ has a strong work ethic and a natural flair for working with people, while developing valuable marketing and managerial skills needed to grow his portfolio.

Operating from one of the most challenging climatic regions in the country, MJ understands the value that water usage plays on a community that has experienced one of the worst droughts in over 100 years. This critical resource has had an extreme effect on how landscapes are managed, and as our industry adapts to this change, so has MJ’s capacity to learn. This is what gives him the advantage to stay ahead of new and emerging trends in the market.
