Bidvest Top Turf wins SALI Shield of Landscaping Excellence

Bidvest Top Turf won the South African Landscapers Institute (SALI) Awards’ Shield of Landscaping Excellence 2019 for the landscape installation at the Hertford Office Park’s Dam Area.

This is the 5th time in SALI’s Awards history that we have been awarded the coveted Shield for the best landscape entry in South Africa, including a Double Gold Award for the Water Wise elements incorporated into the installation.

Abland Property Developers were looking to create an open/informal space in the centre of the development for their tenants to use for rest and relaxation during the workday. The space had to be informal, have a water body and a space for outdoor functions etc. Connie Pretorius of CPLD came up with the design and concept, which Bidvest Top Turf executed. The result is a well-used and functioning, colourful and peaceful spill-out area.

The National Judge said: “This is a very well-established site with high quality workmanship to have created this little oasis within the surrounding area. The fact that rainwater is captured for irrigation purposes on the surrounding building areas makes the site unique and worthy of the Shield of Landscaping Excellence!”
